**Synopsis:** Join us for an enriching experience in the natural beauty of Bellevue! Participate in a moderate group hike at Coal Creek Falls, where you’ll enjoy scenic views and the tranquility of nature. Following the hike, expand your knowledge with an educational walk at Cougar Mountain, focusing on wild edible and medicinal plants. Whether you’re an avid hiker, a nature enthusiast, or simply curious about the wilderness, this event promises to be both informative and enjoyable. **Event Details:**

**Coal Creek Falls Hike**
– **Hosted By:** Queer Mountaineers
– **Trail:** Coal Creek Falls loop including Far Country Falls
– **Distance:** 4.6 miles with an elevation gain of 699 ft
– **Meet Up:** Sky Country Trailhead (next to a large parking lot)
– **What to Bring:** Water, layered clothing, rain gear (if necessary), and sturdy walking/hiking shoes.

– **Important:** Hike will be conducted rain or shine; dogs and small children are discouraged for safety.

**Wild Edible and Medicinal Plant Walk**
– **Led By:** Natalie Hammerquist from The Adiantum School of Plant Medicine
– **Focus:** Identification and learning about local wild edibles (like salmon berry and oxeye daisy) and medicinal plants (such as Oregon grape and horsetail).
– **Location:** Meet at the parking lot of Sky Country Trailhead, near the sign and picnic table.
– **What to Bring:** Small bag, pocket knife, weather-appropriate clothing, long pants (to avoid prickly plants), and walking shoes.
– **Note:** No foraging is allowed on Cougar Mountain trails, but the focus will be on identification and education.

**COVID Protocol:** Please stay home if you are feeling unwell, and masks are optional, though encouraged if you prefer.

**Donations:** Contributions are appreciated to support Queer Mountaineers and future events, but not required to participate.
