Sammamish, WA Community

Located along the serene shores of Pine Lake, this beloved 19-acre park blends waterfront beauty with family-friendly recreation. Located at 2401 228th Ave SE, Pine Lake Park serves as one of Sammamish’s most treasured outdoor destinations, offering locals and visitors a peaceful retreat just minutes from the city center.

Water, Woods & Wide-Open Spaces

At the heart of the park lies a seasonal swimming beach, protected by lifeguards from June 21 to August 24, 2024, daily from noon to 7 p.m. A dedicated dock and boat launch invite kayakers, paddleboarders, and canoeists to enjoy the calm lake waters, while anglers can cast lines from shore (note: fishing season runs from the 4th Saturday in April to October 31, and licenses are required for those 15+).

Beyond the water, Pine Lake Park is a hub of activity year-round. Sports fields for soccer, lacrosse, and baseball, a full basketball court, and modern playgrounds offer fun for every age. Picnic shelters and BBQ grills make it a top spot for gatherings, while wooded trails provide a peaceful walk with lake views.

Accessibility, Safety & Seasonal Hours

Open daily from 6:30 a.m. to dusk (April–September) and 7:30 a.m. to dusk (October–March), Pine Lake Park is thoughtfully designed for convenience. Parking gates open at 8 a.m. and close 30 minutes after sunset. In summer, a free lifejacket borrowing station encourages safe water play for all ages.

Planning a party or team event? You can reserve picnic shelters and turf fields in advance—just be sure to book early, especially during peak months.

A Storied Past, A Vibrant Present

Originally opened as a private resort in the 1910s, Pine Lake Park has a rich history. Once known as French’s LaPine Resort, it transitioned into public hands in the 1960s under King County and officially became a Sammamish city park in 1999. Today, the park honors its past while serving as a modern community hub—a place where families make memories across generations.
